Palliative and Supportive Care

Compassionate nursing care for veterans with serious or life-limiting conditions, focusing on comfort and quality of life.

About Palliative and Supportive Care Service

Palliative and supportive care focuses on improving comfort, dignity, and quality of life for individuals living with serious or life-limiting illness. This type of care supports both the physical and emotional wellbeing of clients while helping them remain in the comfort of their own home.

At Valour Health Services, our community nurses provide compassionate care that prioritises comfort and personalised support. Our team works closely with veterans, families, and healthcare providers to ensure care aligns with the client’s wishes and healthcare needs.

Through respectful and attentive care, we aim to provide reassurance, relieve discomfort where possible, and support clients and their families during a challenging time.

Accessing This Service Through DVA

Community nursing assessments may be available to eligible veterans through the Department of Veterans’ Affairs (DVA) Community Nursing Program. In most cases, a referral from a General Practitioner (GP) or healthcare professional is required before services can begin. Once a referral is received, our nursing team will arrange an assessment to determine the type and level of care required. If you are unsure about eligibility or how to begin the referral process, our team at Valour Health Services is happy to provide guidance and assistance.
